About Coach Nate Moran

Coach Moran is a passionate educator, mentor, and basketball coach who brings nearly two decades of experience to Orlando Hoop School. A proud Florida State University alumnus, he was a member of the FSU men’s basketball team—proof of his grit, work ethic, and love for the game. That same underdog mindset drives the way he coaches young athletes today—believing that with heart and hustle, anything is possible.

Currently, Coach Moran serves as a Boys Basketball Coach at Edgewater High School, one of Orlando’s most respected basketball programs. Off the court, he holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling and has been a dedicated teacher in the Orlando school system for the past 17 years. His dual background in education and athletics uniquely positions him to support student-athletes both mentally and physically, helping them succeed not just in basketball, but in life.

Known for his genuine care, calm leadership, and positive mentorship, Coach Moran is someone kids look up to and parents trust. He believes basketball is more than a sport—it’s a platform to teach discipline, teamwork, responsibility, and self-belief. Whether he's breaking down fundamentals, helping a player through a tough day, or cheering from the sideline, Coach Moran leads with purpose and heart.

At Orlando Hoop School, Coach Moran is committed to creating a safe, structured, and encouraging environment where every athlete is challenged, supported, and given the opportunity to grow.
